Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the debut of The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders or Rohan expansion today. LOTR Online has is an award winning free MMORPG that has captivated millions of players and will be bringing more to its loyal fans come the 3rd quarter of this year. The expansion will extend players from Middle Earth all the way to the Plains of Rohan and will be bringing a new level cap as well as allowing players to travel through Amon Hen and the Fangorn Forest.

Kate Paiz, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online Said, “2011 was another banner year for The Lord of the Rings Online with consistent growth for the game, a successful unification of our European and North American services and the success of Rise of Isengard, our best selling expansion to date”. With that being said, its no wonder the LOTR Online team is expecting another great year with the release of this awesome expansion. The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan Features:

• New Level Cap – Players are now able to reach level 85 and embark on more quests through the massive world of Rohan.
• Mounted Combat System – Thats right, we said mounted combat system. Players can ride into battle on their trusted War Horse and slay all of their foes. The mount system will also allow players to level up their trusted steeds and customize their  armor (this feature happens to be one that we’re VERY exciting about).
• New Levels -You guessed it, players will be able to experience the iconic Amon Hen and Fangorn Forest. These new levels will not only allow players to embark on quests in some extremely famous LOTR spots, but will add plenty of fun-filled hours of game play for fans of this MMORPG!

Riders of Rohan  is expected to release this Fall and should prove to be a very popular roll out for The Lord of the Rings Online  series. At this point, the release of Riders of Rohan is expected to have a series of updates leading up to the actual launch which will introduce plenty of goodies along the way. Leading up to the expansion the LOTR Online team is also expected to release some new rewards, festival updates, and much more!
