Rumors have been circulating some time now about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online that it’s a hoax, a prank, or simply just a rumor. Nonetheless, the rumors have been put to rest by VG427. Apparently, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online is currently being developed by CyberTime System but is currently only expected to be released in Russian. Rumors have also circulated that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online was originally S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, but this rumor has also been squashed in VG427’s post. According to the Official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online forum, there is a multi language pack in the works, but it is not currently completed. If you’re curious about what this MMO has to offer, take a peek at the video below!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online is in its Open Beta stage right now, however, players can only play the game in Russian (if you know Russian, have at it!). That doesn’t exclude players who don’t speak Russian, in fact the official forums encourage players to give it a try by stating, “You can download, install and try gaming in russian version of this game”. There’s a lot of confusion surrounding the appearance of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online, so we’ll do our best to try to clear up some of the controversy surrounding this MMO.
The original developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. called it quits in 2011, but development on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 continued. It’s uncertain whether the development of part 2 has been cancelled, however, a new development team (CyberTime System) decided to pick up the torch and improve the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series with this MMO. Although many fans of the series seem to be in disapproval, the team is doing its best to create an exciting and improved addition to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. family with this MMO.
This MMO has a plethora of features, so here’s a look at what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online hopes to bring to the table:
- A unique urban environment.
- Survival based game play.
- Environmental mutational effects.
- A complex skill leveling system that allows players to customize their skill sets.
- Developmental system that allows players to build defense or develop facilities.
- A parallel developmental system for support and combat skills.
- Many different play styles to choose from including: PvE, PvP, Survival, Trade, and much more!
- A vast world to be explored by players.
With all that being said, it’s clear to see that this MMO will be bringing something exciting to the MMO game. Although there is a lot of controversy surrounding this MMO, we’re excited to give it a shot and decide for ourselves on how the CyberTime System team does with this MMO. The game play seems very interesting and the graphics aren’t half bad. Also, the features that are expected to be included in this game seem like they will satisfy many players of the previous series and should help define this MMO once it releases. Our only hope is that they manage to sort out the Multi Language Pack issue, but for now we’ll just have to give Russian a try! If you’ve got an opinion, we’d love to hear it! So please feel free to leave a comment in the box below and let us know what you think of this MMO!
