Today, Sony has announced and confirmed a Steam Early Access release date for its post-apocalyptic zombie MMO game. H1Z1 will be available from January 15th next year for $19.99. President John Smedley announced on Reddit that we could expect two versions of the game. The first one will be an early access version and a “more expensive one” will be announced shortly after. Now the differences between the two are that it would include features such as different game mode servers and “other specifics.” Smedley also confirmed and reitereated the the Early Access version of H1Z1 would not be a finished game.

“If that’s what you’re expecting, DO NOT BUY EARLY ACCESS. The goal here is to let you in early and help us mold it into a game you want to be a part of for quite a long time.”

The game was originally inspired by the Walking Dead. H1Z1 was announced earlier this year and it’s been confirmed that the game is to launched on the PS4, although no specific release date has been revealed.
