The ArenaNet team has been working long and hard to bring the highly anticipated Guild Wars 2 to full fruition. The Guild Wars MMO has captivated the hearts of many competitive players, and Guild Wars 2 should prove to be no different. Mike O’Brien, ArenaNet Founder and President, stated, “It’s been an incredible adventure over the past five years, working with our community and our team of dedicated artists, designers, and programmers to realize this vision. This year, the seeds of that work come to fruition. We can’t wait to play the game with you…”. With that being said, the ArenaNet team expects nothing but the but the best from Guild Wars 2. Mike O’Brien also stated that the first closed Beta has come to an end and that some press will be able to participate in the second round of Beta testing starting in February. By March and April the ArenaNet team plans to aggressively expand their Beta events to all users. It’s exciting to see that Guild Wars 2 is hitting the ground running, however, an official release date has yet to be confirmed. O’Brien did mention that the ArenaNet team is planning on releasing Guild Wars 2 sometime toward the end of 2012 though, so it should be coming sooner than later.
