Grand Theft Auto 3 was a true game-changer in the world of console video games. By allowing players a fully immersive environment with which to explore, destroy, and defile by whatever means necessary, the concept of open world, sandbox style games would forever be altered.
Now, with the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, the latest edition of the rampaging criminal franchise, the game play moves online, allowing players to play alongside one another in their quest for total anarchy. One of the most anticipated updates has been the promise of Online Heists, where up to four players can work together to take down high profile, lucrative businesses for huge cash rewards. This update was supposed to be released shortly after the game last year, but has since been delayed due to production issues.
On March 10th, however, fans of the series can finally band together and engage in monumental heists in the fictional city of Los Santos. Rockstar, makers of the game, apologized to fans for the massive delay, and promised that the wait would be worth it. They also promised an additional $200,000 for players who had pre-ordered the package. GTA Online: Heists will be released for both PC and console versions of the game.
