Despite KOG Games doing everything they could to change the game in order to gain more popularity and players — and despite the #LongLivetheChase social media campaign by loyal players — the Grand Chase game is set to shutdown on April 15th of this year. The game’s forums will follow suit and close just two days later on April 17th.
Although the game’s shop has already gone ahead to disable purchases made in-game, players have been granted 1,000,000 VP with which they may spend freely in the last legs of the game’s life.
The Grand Chase Team wrote an open letter to player’s discussing the game’s unfortunate shutting of its doors, saying, “In the end, we would like to sincerely apologize for not being able to find a way to effectively continue servicing Grand Chase, and not being the first to share this information with you.”
“For the community that has stuck by Grand Chase through thick and thin, we’d like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your undying love for the game,” the message signed off with, thanking the community.
