All fans of the Diablo franchise have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Diablo 3 for over a decade now. Diablo 3 is clearly in development right now, however, has Best Buy finally answered the question of Diablo 3’s release date? An in store display in Rochester, Minnesota, claims that Diablo 3 will be released on Febuary 1st. Thanks to Joystiq we were able to get a hold of this image to prove Best Buy’s claims.
Funny, eh? Unfortunately, it is too soon to know if this claim is true or false. However, Blizzard has yet to announce an official launch date, so the only reasonable conclusion is that somebody jumped the gun. Nonetheless, Gameplay (a UK retailer), announced the date as the 3rd of Febuary (which would add up to the UK’s Friday release dates), but nothing has been set in stone yet. According to the most recent update from Joystiq, Blizzard community manager Micah Whipple responded on Twitter stating, “We can’t really keep every individual retail shop from making up a date,” and “Retailers will not know a date until it’s officially announced through a press release”. With that being said, the wait may be closing in, but only Blizzard knows the truth.
