German studio, Bigpoint revealed that they were working on a Game of Thrones browser MMO back in 2012. The studio ambitiously set the release date for the game sometime during 2013 but things obviously didn’t pan out the way that they had originally planned it. Since that point, there has been little news regarding the games status until very recently. Many had assumed that the developer had pulled the plug on the project but it appears that the Game of Thrones MMORPG is actually still on the path towards completion.
According to European site: Developer Online, Bigpoint is aiming to fill several positions, including Senior Game Designer, Senior Technical Artist, and Lead Artist 3D. According to Developer, a portion of the people who are hired in will work on Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms. It goes without saying but Bigpoint is trying to fill high-level, key-role placements well into the development cycle of the game leading one to believe that something must have gone wrong at some point. Which would also explain the developers silence over the past two years. What actually happened is anyones guess at this point but we will be keeping a look out for any more news regarding the Game of Thrones MMORPG in the future.
